Founded in 2006, we are a small family owned and operated agency.  We feel that keeps us unique and more accessible because we don't hide behind standard business hours and while we post standard hours, we answer the phone 24/7, if we are available.  All functions of the business are performed by the owner and founding Agent, Donna Lee.  Back office support is provided by family on an as needed basis, usually during enrollment periods. 

 

Prior to starting Barstead Brokerage, Donna worked for the pharmaceutical giant, GlaxSmithKline, for almost 2 decades.  One decade of that time was spent as a pharmaceutical representative in the metro Atlanta area.   As a result, Donna knows her way around the medical community.   Prior to being a rep she was in management, in the GSK home office, developing provider education materials on various disease states which has proved very helpful when assisting people with healthcare choices that match their needs.

Donna, who moved from Canada in 1979 to attend college, now lives in Venice, FL with her 6 chinese crested dogs.  She has two grown boys and 2 grandsons.  During her time off she enjoys country dancing, exploring Florida's beaches, Yoga, home improvement projects and paper arts & crafts.  She also is a hobby preservation breeder and shows her dogs in AKC, UKC and IABCA.

Donna is licensed in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama and Texas.  She holds the following licenses:  Health & Life, Property and Casualty, and Health Counsellor.   She has a B.A. degree in both Accounting and Business Management.
